CWF Spring Meeting and NBFTA AGM

The NBFTA AGM will be held in conjunction with the Canadian Woodlands Forum once again this spring. The CWF meeting will take place April 12 & 13 at the Delta Beausejour Hotel, Moncton, NB.

The NBFTA AGM will take place on April 13th from 1-5pm. Please be sure to check back often for updates.

INTRODUCTION TO LiDAR BASED ENHANCED FOREST INVENTORY(EFI), TERRAIN and SURFACE PRODUCTS FOR FOREST PROFESSIONALS

Hello Folks,

The Maritime College of Forest Technology’s, Department of Continuing Education is pleased to offer Introduction to LiDAR Based Enhanced Forest Inventory (EFI), Terrain and Surface Products for Forest Professionals with Riley Côté-DeMerchant as instructor. The dates are March 29th & 30th, 2017 beginning at 8:30 AM each day. The course will be held in room 230 of the Maritime College of Forest Technology, Fredericton, New Brunswick. Specific course details including an instructor profile, application form, and tuition costs are included in the attached announcement.

This had previously been arranged for February 22 & 23 but was moved to accommodate instructors and students.

Continuing Education Opportunity

Hello Folks,

My apologies on the delay in posting this.

The ARPFNB has offered for our members to attend the CE portion of their AGM On February 23, 2017 from noon until 3:30pm for a cost of $30 dollars. The poster for this is located below. The lunch starts at noon and Continuing Education portion of the event starts at 1pm and attendance before noon should be avoided to respect their business meeting. Any NBFTA member interested should contact Lori Curtis, ARPFNB Executive Assistant as the poster indicates. Please note, they are looking for confirmation by February 20th, 2017 (Monday).

Spruce Budworm Workshop – February 22, 2017 – Rodd Hotel – Miramichi NB

Hi All,

On February 22, 2017 there will be a Spruce Budworm Workshop at the Rodd Hotel in Miramichi NB.

The workshop will describe research carried out as part of the Spruce Budworm Early Invention Strategy Project. The workshop will also include an update on the research project, current budworm scientific knowledge, and infestation status.

The workshop should be attended by representatives of local stakeholders, woodlot owners, First Nations, municipalities, government and the public.

Tickets on Lloyd Fitzgerald Painting and Prints Available

Hi All,

Below is a scan of the Lloyd Fitzgerald painting commissioned by the Alumni Association for the 70 year celebration.
The painting is matted and framed. The cost of the painting is over $3000 and the Alumni Association is selling tickets for $20 each (300 Maximum).

In addition, they are selling 100 numbered, unframed prints for $100 each.

Prints and tickets will be sold at the reunion, however anyone not attending the Reunion and interested in purchasing a ticket or a print can contact Andre Arseneault at reunion2016@mcft.ca or at 506-471-5188. The draw will be help during the Banquet, Saturday, July 30th at the Fredericton Convention Centre.
